Sri Lanka has been under lockdown since 21st May due to a rise in positive COVID cases. Travel is severely restricted and families in Badowita are facing even more problems with sourcing food because of a lack of funds and supply issues.
We have managed to get travel passes for food distribution this Thursday to 98 families who access the Asha Centre in Badowita. With food prices going up and families we work with continuing to suffer, this support remains vital.
A food parcel costs £6 and provides all the essentials a family needs.
